Pub review: Lamb & Flag

The Lamb & Flag is a perfect example of what makes London such a great city: a fantastic pub. And when I say pub I mean Pub: the traditional dark, small, and packed drinking hole that gets filled before the sun goes down. And full it will be. Rarely will you visit the Lamb & Flag and have free reign over where you want to sit.
This glorious pub offers exactly what a pub should offer: some of the best draught beers you can find contained in the ideal atmosphere for enjoying it. The ceiling is low, the stairs are creaky, and the bar is long and narrow. It is the perfect atmosphere for enjoying a fine pint.
Whether you go by yourself in an attempt to write your masterpiece (it is believed that Thomas Hardy wrote “Jude the Obscure” here), or you’re rounding up your friends for a night out, you won’t be disappointed. Even if you’re an old hat at London pubs, the Lamb & Flag will provide you with the proper ambience.
The love of this pub by its loyal faithful will even make its negatives nothing more than a charming blemish. Most notably are the notoriously filthy toilets. Although filthy and smelly beyond belief, no true pub goer would hold this against the Lamb & Flag. In fact, most find it endearing; perhaps even a point of drawing power.
A good pub must have this atmosphere and lively environment. It is what makes people go there in the first place. The loud chatter and clinking glasses makes you feel at home, and the bartenders equally add to this experience. In traditional British style, the barkeeps are surly in a friendly way, and their timely service of their reasonably priced beer is another reason why this pub should not be ignored.
By the way readers, how does a ski hotels online competition sound to all of you? Everyone should really enter, this would be such a cool way way to spend a bit of the winter before the weather gets warm!
